Institute for Policy Studies 50th Anniversary Celebration

In October 2013, the Institute for Policy Studies celebrated its 50th anniversary with a three-day festival of panels, workshops, and a gala at Union Station in Washington, DC.

I chose bright, handpainted watercolor as the unifying theme for the festival's designed materials. On the back of the mailed invitations — a trifold printed on textured watercolor stock — I sketched the Institute's co-founders and painted a watercolor cloud highlighting significant moments from the Institute's 50-year history.

Other festival materials include programs for the festival, donor dinner, and gala; graphics for gifts such as coffee mugs, magnets, and totes; banners and signage; and online and print advertisements for the event.
