In May 2016, the Project On Government Oversight celebrated its 35th anniversary with a "Storytelling Soiree." A seated dinner held at The Hamilton in Washington, DC, the soiree was to feature significant people from the Project's history — working with Story District — who would tell short, significant stories from the organization's history.
Many of these stories involved working with whistleblowers, long and difficult investigations, and uncovering instances of government corruption, fraud, or general wrongdoing. I joined the committee to plan the event and developed three preliminary moodboards/concepts for the event materials design:
The winning concept that the committee favored — "When They Hide, We Seek" — used black, white, yellow, and textures such as markers and highlighters to complement the investigative nature of the stories being told at the event.

I also created the concept and designs for the event favors package, the "Good Government Toolkit." This package included: recycled folders stamped with a custom stamp I designed; the event program booklet; and highlighters and a moleskin notebook. Inside, guests received a note from the Project's Executive Director encouraging them to "highlight" instances of wrongdoing and hold the government accountable with their toolkit.
